hahaha!!!

Haha, awesome you took my song to get inspired by! It's something completely different, though the bass sounds a bit the same! Its cool ;-)
Cya! Chris

LOL, I was just listening your Funkalicious, when I saw this review.
pretty cool (and weird)

, but thanks!
:P

hmm

It's ok, but way too boring. I like the start and the beat, but it really needs a melody!! Get in some nice synth melodies and then its probably a good song!
Cheers

KieranNG responds:

Thanks for the review.

oke

What I think you should do with this song is getting a piano and doing a huge piano solo on top of the excisting. This will make a nice contrast i think.
Cheers

Delerion responds:

Not such a bad idea. Thanks for the review

Awesome

And yeah I love it! Nice sounds, nice flow, love the percussion! What program do u use? What would've been awesome was a soothing piano in it. Just some high notes every now and then and some nice lines. But thats just the pianist in me :P Those strings are really good btw, I love em! Reminds me of The Last Samurai (cause of the flute ofcourse ;-)) 5/5 10/10

Well most of it is created with a full orchestra. but for the little add on's i use FL studios. :)

calming

Nice atmosphere, but I feel like its missing something. I don't like the "choir" near the ending. It sounds more like a big intro then a real song. I beleive it should build up to something, some more percussion and maybe a little more complicated melody. But then again, it's nice and calm, and good the way it is.
All in all, nicely done!

Scribbler responds:

I was going to add more toward the end of the song and there actually was more (but I took it out.) The reason for this is simple, the song was made for a game originally so before, when I had a lot of stuff going on toward the end, it made the transition/loop harsh so I had to keep it relatively minimal BUT having said that, there may be a more definite version in the future. There's nothing stopping me from revisiting this now is there?

nice!

Nice tune! Laid back beat. I like it. The only thing is, it sounds to far in the back. Its to muted. And there are alot of glitches in the sound, where the sound just "cracks". You made it sound like a live recording, although if the drums are live you got a crappy drumset, or atleast get some new symbals :P Other then that it has a nice flow, the screaming in with the singing isnt really my thing, but it worked. Nice track!

jewcurls responds:

Thanks Chris, the drums are just a program so they aren't too good and this was more of an experiment of sounds with my new Digitech Whammy 4 pedal.
Thanks for the review

chill and loungy

Awesome track! Normaly not into D&B, but this is far more than just the normal D&B! It has a smooth ambient beginning with some nice smoothing chords! The beat is just nice, not really my taste like i said, but it works with the song! But then for the sax, its absolutly awesome!! It gives it a jazzy vibe and from ambient it goes on to lounge music. Definetly wanna get the 320 kbs version of this!
I'm more of a vintage kind of musician, love my piano, rhodes and bass. But this is something great to hear besides all the rest! Remindes me a little to St Germain (about the best lounge artist alive :P)
Well thats about it... no bad things to say... just a matter of personal taste!
Great song!

Thank you ChrisisD. While I don't listen to a whole lot of Jazz and Funk I have a great respect for all that it has offered. A lot of my recent tunes are better categorized under the genre "Liquid Funk" which incorporates many jazzy, funky themes. It's awesome to see that those who don't particularly listen to liquid find some enjoyment in our tunes.

Thank you again ChrisisD, I'll let you know when we've got the final HQ version done.

awesome

Really nice! It's a laid back basis, nice accoustic guitar and some awesome solo's over it! Really nice. I really enjoyed listening to this! Special.
And indeed, the title is really cool :P

thecoreman responds:

Hiya Chris, thanks a lot for the review mate! Considering that BloodFest did most of the solo guitar parts, it's not surprising that it's awesome, huh? :D

Anyways, thanks a lot for the review!

geez...

I listened to some of your songs... And I keep wondering... Why don't you write your own music AND why don't you use another piano sample... This one just has some sort of distortion over it... not nice... Other then that... it sounds good... but thats just something about FL... it nearly always sounds so mechenical... just like this one... And the quality is just awefull dude!! cmon you can do better!!!

alix1 responds:

lol. this song was just because i was in a FFX mood. ill go back and clean it up one day. its played in FL unlike some of my music because i had trouble playing it. the other one of mine you reviewed was played on my noteworthy keyboard.

Nice

Nicely played! Although the piano sounds a bit weak if you know what I mean. Just add some Room in the editing... (or just a little more reverb) But submiting these classics is highly apressiated! Greets, Chris

alix1 responds:

thanks for the review Chris. :) all i do when i edit the piano is get rid of or clean up the nasty parts. i use only the built in reverb on my keyboard and if i add more it starts to sound a bit bouncy an i wanted a nice crisp sound for this song.
